Hi everybody,

Can you tell me is there Japanese Knotweed in form of capsules?
Do you know some manufacturer that is reliable?

Doesn't he also recommend Source Naturals brand? And I know that Gaia herbs sells high quality products as well.

Oh, and do be sure to double check it's resveratrol from Japanese knotweed, not from grape skins. Important difference there!

Yes, you can get capsules, which are frequently sold as Resveratrol. But be careful because not all Resveratrol is made from Japanese Knotweed so it won't do the same for you.

Man the price of these capsules kills me.

For the same price, you can get 1lb of powder. That's 907x more product for the same price.

Edit: nevermind, it's not 500mg total, it's 500mg x 100 capsules!... LYME BRAIN!

So with the powder you get 9.07x more product!

As mentioned in his latest Lyme book, Buhner used to recommend the isolated constituent Resveratrol only because Japanese Knotweed wasn't readily available (despite it being an invasive).

He mentions that he prefers whole herb and, yes, Green Dragon Botanicals is one of his recommended sources for capsules.

Buhner also recommends 1st Chinese Herbs and they sell several brands of capsules and whole herb.

I've been encapsulating my own JK and am enjoying the same savings as Mustard Seed.

I bought it wrongly - it was from grape.

Because of that, now I want to be sure which is reliable source and from JK.

I prefer to buy capsule, I think I wouldn't be able to make my own.

Another thing.
Is it safe to take it with abx (p450)? Because I found on one website that it is also p450.
Is there anyone who takes p450 abx and JK?

bbm - When I looked up the cytochrome P450 for herb/abx interactions I didn't see JK on the list.

Yikes - I must have missed it.

I did take JK with Rifampin and biaxin and also mino.

It is now also taxonomically known as Fallopia japonica (although many still use Polygonum cuspidatum), so you may find it that name as well.

I second multifacetedme's comment. Here in the Fraser Valley of BC Canada, the Japanese knotweed grows everywhere where it is not supposed to. Wife and I have taken to harvesting this invasive species. Wife has made tinctures several times now and we are perfecting the process. Insure that when you harvest this stuff, it is not beside the road because this is an invasive species and local governments are known to spray the stuff with various pesticides, and sometimes it takes more than one spraying to kill the stuff. You have to find a spot where it grows and where it is still undiscovered by the authorities. It has taken a bit of experimentation in making this resveritol tincture. We are now gearing up and we may be making more of the tincture. The idea is to try and have a lab test what we make so that we can market the stuff. This idea is now in the experimental stage. I will keep all posted as this project goes along. xfmlg
