How much water do you drink a day?

So the topic came up in a separate post yesterday that I may be drinking too much water a day. (I drink up to a gallon a day; sometimes it's a full gallon, sometimes it's 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon.) I asked my brother (who is a Fitness and Nutrition Specialist) and he uses this rule:

1/2 of your body weight = ounces of water per day for optimal health

I also read somewhere online this: bodyweight x .67 = ounces of water per day

There are, however, other factors to consider: activity level, certain foods, sweating, fever, infections/disease, etc

According to these calculations, I should be drinking 65-93 oz a day, so I am right in range.

Just thought this might be useful for others to gauge their water intake.

I drink approx. 8 glasses a day.

If I'm 'going' often...then I know I'm drinking enough.

I'm pretty sure with all the pills and things us Lymies have to take that we should all have adequate water intake lol

Just thought it was good to keep in mind on those days when sweating attacks occur or fevers, etc etc
I also notice that I don't feel as great if I don't drink a certain amount a day.

I must have at least a 1/2 gallon (2 quarts) daily for my gastro tract to function. During cold days in winter, I can struggle to that much down me, but summers I frequently drink a gallon a day.

During any time when we are warm or sweating, we need to drink more water to replace what's being lost through our kidneys processing functions as well as what we loose through our skin.

I was up every 2 hours last night to pee. I think I broke a record.

oh wow!

I don't get up in the night to pee.


But, during the day...it's constant.
Am I the only one that waits too long...and then is running to the toity?


My husband says I'm like a kid.

This is why I love doing powdered herbs. I get a ton of water without even thinking about it!
