I was diagnosed with Lyme in August...no rash, no tick (that I saw), but after being quite ill for several days and not feeling "great" for a couple weeks prior...my doctor ordered blood tests for several conditions and the lyme test came back positive.
I was on antibiotics for 28 days.
No symptoms after that except, perhaps, minor fatigue. I am an active 68 year old...retired...so a "power nap" some days rejuvenated me and i did not necessarily attribute the fatigue to the lyme.
Mid-December, my mother died quite unexpectedly.
I had 14 people staying at my house for Christmas.
And another 12 were here for New Years.
New Years Eve, I developed horrible muscle pain in my leg. The muscle pain shifted from one area to another constantly. I tried some over the counter medicine to no avail.
I am thinking stress activiated something or perhaps it was just a coincidence?
I had to fly to North Carolina (from Central NY) to begin settling my mother's estate and cleaning out her home. The discomfort was so unbearable, I finally ended up in the ER. They put me on prednisone and hydrocodone. I hate meds, but I was desperate.
I am home now. The meds initially seemed to help...but now the help is more intermittent.
I realize I need to find a lyme literate doctor to work with.
I live in Rome, New York (which is near Utica).
Any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks for your help.
