I would encourage you to continue with extra detoxing and staying off the protocol for a few days, then evaluate how you feel. If you feel like you are back to being stable and at your 'baseline', then restart your protocol - just do it slowly.
If you aren't there in a few days, take up to about
10 days off, and evaluate how you are doing at that point.
As you said, you don't want to stay off too long and loose any ground you have gained.
