Sorry you are so miserable. I have burning pain 100% of the time. It may migrate around to different areas but it's always there. Same thing with a strong pulse. Feels like my heart is always working very hard. I think it's related to POTS - a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system- Lyme induced. When it first started, it did freak me out. I got an ultrasound of my abdomen because I thought I had an aneurysm! This was years ago when it began.
You need more detox btw! There's lots of different things you can do. Lemon water, activated charcoal or betonite clay, etc.

Liamb, first of all, I'm very sorry that you are so miserable. I think many of us can relate.

While there is no way I can say that many of us have experienced exactly what you are going through, I think we may. I know that I have had a strong pulsing throughout my body - but I can't say for sure that it was just as strong as yours.

If you have Bartonella, this could explain the strong pulsing though, as Bartonella inflames the inside of the blood vessels, which makes them more narrow, which makes the heart have to work harder, which means it has to pump hard. Again, I can't say that's exactly what's going on, but it's what comes to mind.

Thickened blood (High fibrin) can be caused by Lyme, which could also cause the heart to work/pump harder.

The severe burning pain could be from Neuro Lyme and Bart combining in the body - it often causes more serious Neuro issues. I know I had this happen to me and it's incredible the amount of burning, shooting, stabbing pain that it can cause.

While I don't believe your adrenals are the cause of this, if you haven't had them checked yet, it's likely a good idea - that way you have the information. But, you should know, the only really accurate adrenal test is what is called a 4 point saliva test. They collect saliva 4 times a day -Upon rising from bed, noon, mid afternoon and evening - and it's tested for cortisol output. This gives an accurate picture of what your adrenals are doing throughout the day.

The last thing is to try to not get scared or upset over this - and yes, I do know what I'm asking! I know how hard it can be to not allow scary symptoms to not make you scared - but fear brings stress, and stress just almost always brings more or more severe symptoms.

I think your answer is right in your first paragraph. I think you are herxing from the sauna, and if I were you I'd back off from the sauna for one week and see if your pulse throbbing symptoms subside. Your detox bath once a week is just one more push to them, so I'd drop that back to a foot soak and only in temperate water/lukewarm.

If you aren't already, I'd also start taking activated charcoal that comes in capsules, etc., in the drug section of most stores. You would want to take it at least 2 hours away from eating or taking anything else because the charcoal will sponge up everything and remove it through your digestive track. Drink plenty of water when you take it.

Maybe someone could suggest a mild ammonia remover?


I want to add that I'm sure sorry none of our suggestions were helpful before, and that you had to go to the e.r., and have a lumbar puncture to boot. I don't think I caught on before that you were using the sauna so many times a week. You are definitely herxing.

You just described herxing, Liamb - so that tells us that if you have started any treatments, you are not doing enough detoxing for your body.

What all have you done/changed since finding out you have these infections?

He's using sauna to detox, but look at how often, with a bath soak on top.

Liamb, you had indicated to me in our emails that you were taking herbs. Can you remember which ones and what you were doing (if you were raising a dose or something)? I know that being in the hospital can make things a bit hazy, and you are not at home where the herbs most likely are.

Ye traveler I did in did email I told you I was using new herbs but I used the new herbs wen the sensation was already there I didn't use them before the sensation only wen I was going true it but I came off all antibiotics for 3 days and herbs and still no change unfortunately

As you take herbs or abx for these infections, the "reactions" are not usually immediate. For some, it can take up to 2 months for the herxing to start, for others, it generally starts within a few weeks.

It's quite possible that you are in a herx and detoxing will lower the toxin load so that your body will calm down.

July - that's why I was trying to ask about what was recently started - because I've been emailing with Liamb. Sometimes when we get rattled, we don't think clearly - as you know. LOL! I know it can take me a bit to gather my thoughts and be able to think clearly again - and I'm the one that stays calm in "emergency" situations! LOL!

Okay, so you've been in treatment with abx for a while. These symptoms were there before the addition of the last abx - when was this added? How long ago?
