Just curious. Was having lots of palpitations, pounding heart, breathless when going up stairs, lightheaded/almost passing out when standing, basically all the usual POTS symptoms so I went to my pcp (back before we suspected Lyme). She heard a murmur and sent me to a cardiologist. Cardiologist did an echo and found mitral valve thickening, prolapse and mild regurgitation. Actually all my valves have a bit of regurgitation but not enough to warrant any action.
Also did a 48 hour holter but it wasn't that exciting. Palps, tachycardia and bradycardia showed up but not to the frequency that warrants action. And the pvc's weren't linked to the symptoms I felt either.
So is this an example of Lyme making it's way to my heart? No family history of MVP. I'm 34. No heart blocks or anything real serious. Cardiologist said with MVP those symptoms of lightheadedness, out of breath, exercise intolerance, palpitations, ect are all quite common and I just had to learn to live with them. And to watch out for congestive heart failure just in case. LOL.
