Eating asparagus helps? I'm not familiar with palo azul & sparga. Can you share more about them? Thanks!

As an aside, do you take astragalus? From what I've read in Buhner's book, it is supposed to prevent reinfection. I'm sure having a break long enough to get our immune systems strengthened would go a long way too!

My urine smells like cat pee. I highly recommend super scoop litter for the smell of human Lyme pee that smells like cat pee 🐱 throw in a booda box and we will really be good to go! No more blaming our kitties!

LOL.

I don't use kitty litter any more. I buy horse stall pellets made out of compressed saw dust. Fraction of the cost of kitty litter, but you have to keep up with changing it out once the wetness makes the pellets fall apart or the cats will track sawdust everywhere, lol.

I was astounded at how well that neutralizes odor!

I am wondering if the smell can be altered by eating certain foods. Someone mentioned asparagus and I wasn't sure if they were confusing it with astralagus.

If pineapple changes the ph.......well, we should smell like lemons!
Time to do some research.

Here's what will make it smell better. Which is all I was looking for. I hate when I look up something like this and it is to answer a question of "what will make my pee TASTE and smell better".

Sigh.

Fruits, fruit juice
Pineapple, papaya cranberry, melons, mangos, apples grapes are all good choices
Cinnamon, cardamom, peppermint and lemon
Parsley, wheatgrass, and celery.

OK--I thought I had read somewhere that asparagus would make it worse.

The juices & fruit are out for me--too much sugar.
BUT the cinnamon, cardamom, peppermint, lemon, parsley & celery will fit my diet!

Asparagus can make your urine smell - but it doesn't last.

And yes, I have been using astragalus - and will most likely for the rest of my life.

So do you think the astragalus did not prevent re-infection? Or had your immune system been so worn down that the herb didn't work? We live with woods on 3 sides of our yard & a field on the other side that the deer are always in, even tho I keep chasing them away. I love being outside & garden during the spring & summer & fall. I don't want to be paranoid about enjoying nature in the upcoming warm months & was planning on taking astragalus to keep any critters at bay--for me, my kids & granddaughter. I'm hoping it works as well as it is presented.

i believe sparga is for sulfur detox made from asparagus ,initial odor subsides as levels are reduced .its made by cowden nutramedix . palo azul is a south american hardwood that when made into a tea has a lovely blue hue , great for kidneys , chanca piedra is also means break stone

I was writing this really nice (if I do say so myself! LOL!) response and my computer just 'locked up'. Lovely. Just what every Lyme patient needs right??? LOL! Ugh. Fortunately I do have a lap top that I am borrowing!

So, what I was wanting to say is that I didn't start using the astragalus until after my reinfection (foolish me!), but I got on it during the acute phase of the infection, and have been on it ever since. I've never had any increase or new Lyme symptoms since starting it. I believe the symptoms I am experiencing are all from Bart and Babesia. Treatment will suss this out for me though. =/

I wouldn't be so concerned with the deer in your yard, as they are just caught in the middle just like people. The real culprit is the white footed mouse: /www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3812887

Ah ha! Then might be how I got bit. At least one of my theories. I really can't seem to pinpoint how long ago my symptoms started. And I would think it might take the bacteria awhile to reproduce to noticeable levels in one's body, so that makes it harder to pinpoint. But my head has been spacey for 20+ years on & off.

But a few years ago we had a population explosion of mice in our garage. If I remember correctly, we caught 40+ mice that winter! And I handled the traps.

Some were actually living in my car, so that would be another possibility of where the tick came from. One ran across my foot while driving on the turnpike at 70+ miles/hour, passing a tractor trailer. Talk about the need for self-control! Others scurried above my head in the roof liner of the car.

Well, helpful to know--about the mice & the astragalus. I'll make sure we take ours. I started stocking up from Vitacost this week because I had coupons.

YIKES!!! What an experience!! I'm not sure I would have held it together really well! LOL! Sweating, crying, cussing...... LOL!

Handling the mice traps could easily have been how you were infected, as the bacteria is found in mouse blood feces, and urine.
