Thanks for all the input, I really do appreciate it. Georgia, that's interesting about salt intake. I crave salty foods mostly, have for a long time. I can pass up a piece of cake just fine but potato chips...can't resist! Or salty fermented sauerkraut or pickled anything. I think it's related to POTS and probably the whole stupid infection gang.
My head is feeling slightly less pressure today. Woo hoo! I take blue sage and silphirton (spelling?) for brain detox but as with most things I take these days, I don't notice much of a difference.
I get different types of headaches. The vomit inducing ice pick in my skull migraines which seem to trigger brain pressure which feels like I have a metal band around my skull squeezing symmetrically which triggers nerve inflammation across my skull/scalp. I think it is more complicated than just migraines. Before I knew I had lyme, I went to the ER and they did a spinal tap because they thought I had meningitis but it came back clear.
Listen to your body. Craving salty foods is a sign of low sodium and dehydration. Don't base your thoughts on blood work that may show normal sodium levels. Sodium excretion is not linear and blood tests tell you what your sodium is when you take the test. It doesn't tell you what your sodium is when you are having a headache. Each of us is different and we excrete sodium at a slightly different rate. I personally over excrete sodium at times, especially after a very salty meal.
If I were having headaches like you are, I'd start taking Citicoline and see if it helped. It certainly won't hurt. I've been looking into BHMT mutations and the effect of betaine on methylation as it relates to osmoregulation. Betaine may be more valuable as a osmoregulating agent than as a methyl donor. Either way, it fits into what problems you are experiencing.
