All my lipids improved on whole 30 paleo. I dropped the carbs and added bacon.
I was bacon free BEFORE PALEO because everything said its so bad. Interesting self- experiment.
Im not saying to eat bacon, my "test" results were not expected and same outcome as some others found out doing this. There is a theory that most peoples bodies break down animal fats, its the carbs or grains we consume that possibly alter this process. I eat a lot of eggs too now, again my lipids improved. The good went up, the bad went down. I exercise, but not a whole lot.
Bought a few brands with no nitrates, no sugar. One brand is Applegate Farms uncured Sunday bacon. No added measurable sugar but does state has cane sugar, but no measurable % of it. Confusing. So its there, but it super low.
Others will say less than 2-4% sugar ect.
Uses celery powder as a preservative - most do, and in this case they sometimes do mention "natural nitrates from celery juice"
I ate the over- processed "turkey bacon" for a few years but it obviously has a lot of chemicals it.
