Are these candida scores too high

New dr won't treat for Lyme until candida scores go down

I couldn't tell you without the ranges. Are the ranges on the test results?

Reference score appears to be 1.0 and above positive on all. Wondering with my scores if the are WAY high?

The first one isn't what I would call "too high", but the second one is right up there. I mean, it's enough of a scoring to take it seriously.

Silly question, but your doctor does have you in treatment for Candida, right??? They aren't just waiting for those numbers to go down?

He prescribed diflucan 100 mg 2x a week. Seems a bit low to me

That is an odd dose. Candida is also kind of "smart", you dont want to piss it off and give it time to run , you want to kill it. Now.

I've seen a lot of low doses here- not to effective.

However you do need the two liver enzymes tested while on this, preferably before hand too as a base point of your liver health. This, like ABX can be hard on the liver. But thats why they use this test.

A high more continuous dose would be 60mg everyday for at least one month. And try your best to eliminate carbs, gluten, sugars - its food source.

I'm not sure what is a normal treatment but I wasn't tested for Candida before my LLMD started treatment for it prior to my treatment for Lyme and co-infections. I'm not sure why since I wasn't aware that you could test for Candida. For my Candida tx I was taking Diflucan 1x a day and Nystatin 3 x a day. He also put me on the typical Lyme Diet. No sugar, gluten, dairy or alcohol. He did test my liver enzymes.

Although he wrote a small paragraph in his new patient handout, I was not ready for the horrible, horrible herxes I had for the entire month when I was first treated for Candida. I thought I was going to die. After six weeks he started me on abx. I wasn' tested again for Candida prior to treatment for Babesia.

I still take Oil of Oregano and 1 Nystatin every day. I also put myself on the AIP Protocol so no sugar, hardly any fruit, no gluten, no dairy (I don't tolerate it) and no alcohol. Just lots of green veggies and a smaller amount of protein than I usually ate. Also, you have to eat organ meat 3 to 5 times a week. It's not too bad, I was raised on liver and onions so that could be why. I didn't do the elimination phase since I had already done that prior to being diagnosed with Lyme and co-infections. I also mostly follow the general idea of the protocol, sometimes I just can't be that restrictive. It has made a huge difference in how I feel.
