daptomycin + doxy + ceftin

Hello!

Does somebody have experience with this treatment (daptomycin + doxyxyxline + cefuroxime):

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a cure, but I'm sure it would be helpful for some people. I've read good things about daptomycin, and we know that 3+ antibiotics are necessary to kill Borrelia burgdorferi.

Thing is, the study is looking at the effects of antibiotics in a culture, and those effects don't always translate to results in vivo.

Good study nevertheless.

That is a bad drug combination for real clinical cure. Daptomycin does not penetrate BBB so u cannot kill the borrelia bacteria in your brain. That makes the combination useless and only interesting research wise, as a pre-step before finding a better drug combo ...

I'm waiting for kim lewis & team to release some info about their mouse trials on disulfiram:

although certainly not as a good combo as the combos Zhang is coming with, like the one u posted, this one has the potential to enable long term therapy without major side effects - no gut bacteria killed, very few pills needed (has a very long half life) etc... so technically you can take it for months and months, just watch liver enzymes.

dapto is IV. There will be other combos coming out that have just as good results. I think doxy/rifampin/dapsone could be a good one. I believe dapsone does not effect the gut but does have other possible side effects (anemia). Based on a recent post on here, looks like Dr. J is incorporating dapsone. I am on mino/plaquenil soon starting rifampin with the goal of adding in dapsone after.

I thought Zhang released that disulfiram had poor results in vitro.

Eagerly waiting for studies start rolling in soon. News has been kinda stagnant lately.

Other film busters like Tinidazole might work as a substitute for Daptomycin.

but... even if it has the same effect as doxy... if u are able to take it long term without destroying your gut... that is awesome. Zhang is really focused on finding a nuclear bomb that wipes out everything and comes with all sorts of impossible drug combinations that have no applicability clinically. I mean he does a great job but im not sure any of the current combinations he found can be used for anything useful.... Daptomycin is impossibly expensive and does not penetrate the BBB, im very glad it works in the test tube but it's not going to help people.

Does Tinidazole only work on cyst form?


I know that many LLMD's prescribe cyst busters...and something different for the biofilms.

Cysts: Flagyl, Tinidazole, GSE

Biofilms: Lumbrokinase, serrapeptase, xylitol and lactoferrin to name some.
