My well meaning friend brought me tacos from Jack In the Box.

I'm not sure I want to even bother trying to eat them, there just going right into the toilet anyway.

I get more comments about parenting/mothering choices than I do about Lyme. Ha! And usually from people who haven't had kids yet or had them very very verrrry long ago. 😂
Ah well, I take the comments no matter what they concern, even the odd ones, as signs that they care.

I love it when they say.....we don't a have Lyme in this area.......This is my reply.

We have ticks don't we? And I'm pretty sure that if a tick is traveling across a state line on it's host it doesn't say "oh better jump off here, they don't have lyme in NM so I can't cross that state line"

Almost everyone immediately asks me "Don't you get that from a tick?!?!" Yup.

One of my besties at work always calls it my Key Lyme thingy - which makes me crave Chobani Key Lime Yogurt, lol.

I was also told that Kentucky doesn't have Lyme Disease yet - even though I was certain that's where I got it. My dog tested positive 2 weeks after we got back from hiking down there about 11 years ago and that's where I suspect I got it. My daughter went with me last year and after a tick bite kept curling up under my husband's chair to sleep. She was 4 at that time and it was TOTALLY not like her. Started her on antibiotics a couple days later and it "cured" her sleepiness ;-)

for what it's worth, I had ONE person say, "oh, I'm so sorry!" before I even had to explain all the awful things no one knows about Lyme. I wanted to give her a trophy.

Oh, but the best one was "you coming on our 17-mile hike around the lake?" No. But check for ticks when you're done. Or you won't be doing it again any time soon.

i love nature. I still go out on good days. But i'm the one with long pants, sleeves, hat, and spend a small fortune on Permethrin. need to find socks wide enough to fit my pants in...

I fell a few years ago and hit my head on the wall. My family all says, "Well, she's still suffering from her fall. She never has been right since her fall."

Klagh, were you symptomatic before you hit your head? Asking because thats how all my symptoms started: i hit my head on the edge of a door.
As for the thread subject: mine is "why dont you see a psychiatrist?"

BEFORE I FELL I had "Hashimoto's" and MANY symptoms, but the myriad doctors I saw all thought it was various things - hormones, Meniere's Disease, you just need a DIFFERENT thyroid med, reduce stress, take antidepressants, take Adderall.
POOR DOCTORS WERE CLUELESS -- DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON.
I WAS tested for lyme with an Elisa, but it was negative. At the time, I didn't know Elisa is not a reliable indicator of lyme if you have had lyme for a long time.
After I fell, I had an MRI, doctor said no brain damage.

Thats similar to me..had strange symptoms for ~20 years but didnt slow me down..but then i hit my head, got negative mri but still dizzy, then serious symptoms started, pcp suspected lyme but negative elisa

My friend asked if I looked into Fibromyalgia...like she was offering some help.

Yah - like I want a condition that doesn't have any treatment....

(and it's probably caused by Lyme anyway)

The food one is the hardest. My husband thinks sugary snacks will make me feel better too. Nope, just worse, no thanks.
