tinidazole even with my employer provided insurance is $5 a pill. yikes! flagyl is much cheaper why don't you look at that option?

minocycline is 61 cents per tablet. So 1.20 per day X 30 days - sounds reasonable to me.

Tinidazole is 25 cents for 500 mg. that is a good price.

Doxy hydrochloride 100 mg is 19 cents.

A very respectable Canadian online Pharma called Universal Drug is usually cheaper than inland US pharmas IF you are paying out of pocket (not ins). They require an RX faxed to them from your US Dr., then take your CC, you get meds in two weeks or less. Its very legit, not fly by night at all.

Walgreens has a pharma "club" for $20 that discounts your meds a lot. Only applies if your ins wont cover the med- but might as well ask. I save 50% on my no covered thyroid med that way. [My crappy ins wont even cover my thyroid RX, ...what a joke...I need it to live normal.]

yeah, reading fine print is the last thing I do. I had no idea they lumped up deductibles.

Walgreens wanted 500+ for the two meds (their "discount").

I priced the "cash" price at COSTCO and it came in under 100.

I don't think walgreens is gauging customers that bad, but more like a kick back to insurance companies.

In my case it's better to ignore my insurance and just pay in full at costco.

Trav, I'm not that far behind you with dropping coverage all together. This year even my lab costs aren't covered until deductible is met, so I have started to cut some non-essential tests (like... does the patient still have a pulse?)

And the revised Trump plan to fix ObamaCare will now discontinue pre-existing condition coverage. BC may even cancel me before I can drop them.

Obamacare is horribly expensive for most people. The deductibles keep going up and up. Most are going without and paying the penalty for not having insurance. On top of that, they are paying out of pocket for everything.

Most retirees have insurance though their company that they worked for. But, year to year that is not a safe deal any more. It could disappear.

Yep, you pay a penalty for not having ANY insurance in the USA.

The only thing I can think of that would put this country above (most) is the military and the military's improvements come as a direct proportion to the down grading of our social program funding.

Non government subsidized Insurance is just another business, and they're in it for profit margins. The drug companies are the same, as well as the general medical providers. Humanitarianism isn't even in the equation. So even the subsidized programs have to be somewhat spartan because the coffers are limited, depending on what party is running the show. Even when we had a Dem. POTUS, Congress was still a Rep. majority.

USA is sorely lacking in social programs...
There's no good reason why the U.S of A can't provide the same as many other countries do.
I'm not saying better off or are above or richer ...but at least equal to.

We most likely pay more in taxes than the U.S. citizens do.
