Showering/ hair washing causes brain fog: SOLUTION

Not sure if anyone else has this experience... after much internet searching I've found no similar experiences but here goes in the hopes that it will help someone else.

For the past 3 years my boyfriend has been unable to shower or wash his hair without severe brain fog that lasts for days. He can't swim in a pool or hot tub (although lakes and oceans seem to be okay) Using only homemade dry shampoo, it was to the point that the poor guy was going to shave his head.

Some say it's a herx reaction from the heat, but cold water will do the same thing and we use an infared sauna regularly without the symptoms. It led us to believe it was the chemicals and heavy metals in our "treated" water. (We're still not sure.)

At any rate - Epsom salt baths are the only thing that don't cause the brain fog. He tried wetting his hair and still no fog. We were too scared to use soap or shampoo for a really long time but finally tried it out with a natural bar soap made of saponified coconut oil/essential oils and it WORKED! Clean Mike with no fog! This was a HUGE win for us. After three years of cornstarch and cocoa powder dry shampoo I can't even imagine what a fresh clean head of hair must feel like.

If you wanted to test it even further you could buy a water shower filter. I like aquasana. It won't get out certain heavy metals though.

logmoss that really is kind of out of line. Head sensitivity to showering is not unusual for people with these infections. As is chemical sensitivity. And you do realize that "somatoform disorder" means 'all in the mind'?

i know this post is a bit old, but I’m curious. Does your city use chloramine to treat it water?
