I'm new on this journey. Still attempting to simply get a straight answer. My fist suggestion of lyme was from a naturopath Dr with a bio-meridian test. Next the band test with numbers 23 reactive, 41 reactive and 66 reactive. All others interactive? With a note saying CDC does not look at in till 5 bands are reactive?
So next my Dr is sending me to infectious diseases specialist.
My presenting symptoms that lead me down this path.
Allergic asthma
Thyroid
Hormonal
Insomnia
Candida
Neuropathy with bells palsy
Fungus
Rashes
Eye problems
headaches
Getting lost while driving home? What the heck?
So I've been reading and studying, and came across this place.

I've seen many test questions all different stories, so sorry for one more to the list.

Band 23 is specific to lyme...

An Infectious disease specialist won't be much help unless he's lyme literate. (most likely not)

I suggest you seek out a LLMD - we can help. Start a new thread titled: "Looking for LLMD in/near_____" and fill in the blank.
Then enable your email option - so members can send you names privately. We don't post the names of LLMD's for privacy reasons. We need to protect our dr.'s.

In addition you can contact ILADS for some names:

...you can also contact me via email (click on the envelope below my screen name) and I will check my list for LLMD's in your area.

We encourage all new members to read through the "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" thread . It's packed full of useful information.

So - what's important is you have symptoms consistent with lyme disease...and you have a positive lyme specific band on the WB test (23).

Welcome JeanBean. Girlie has given you great information.

I'd like to add that Infectious disease doctors while a logical choice are the most anti lyme doctors out there. 99.5% of them will tell you that Lyme disease doesn't exist and you are crazy to think so. That your test was BS and you are either crazy or symptoms lean towards MS or Parkinsons. That's why Girlie suggested looking for an LLMD. Don't put yourself through an ID Dr appointment. It's not worth it.

You tested positive for band 23 which is a Lyme specific band and that can only happen if you have Lyme.

id doc was a waste of precious time for me ...watch under our skin documentary .consider the dna connexions test, no doc needed , also rife and bvt and herbs while you research... check out lyme lingo page and mitchells rant and the new to lyme posts ...welcome sorry ...band 41 means flagella and no good bugs have tails and you would know if it was leptospirosis or syphilis so its gotta be lyme

I agree that the Infectious Disease doc is not the best idea - unless they are Lyme literate, which very few are.

Hello all thank you for the Welcome and all your knowledge and help. As for the IDS I'm scheduled for he is Lyme Literate. Yet I'm going reay with my info. As far as testing with only three bands I was still holding out hope that this was not my label. sad thanks you also for pasting my reply here that found itself in the wrong place. confused Will learn to find my way around in here.
