Anyone used hydroxychloroquine ?

Seems it has been used vs. Borellia and Bart in combinations. Although I cant remember if it was referenced here as a treatment. Any thoughts on adding it?

Ya rhuemeys love it because of it immunosuppressive qualitys ...can mess up the eyes ...however some llmd say it inhibits the efflux pump of bugs to make it more succeptable to others abx ...plus what girlie said ...zith is 96 hr so a few day n ok but ya a month to clear the system?!

I do recognize it as Plaquenil and wow on its half life. My eyes are already getting a bit uncomfortable in the mornings again. I guess by messed up you mean permanent vision changes?

I'm on it. I keep meaning to get an eye exam. I have had no issues with it but have only been on it for a month. Was on it last year for about 6 wks with no issue. I take it with mino and rif.

Thanks for chiming in. I realize its early but its comforting to know others are using it without issue and helps balance out any bias I might develop otherwise.

I was on Plaquenil for 8 months straight. Yes its used to reduce inflammation and make other abx's more effective. It can also mess with your eyes so you need to get them checked but I haven't run into anyone that's actually had eye problems from it.

It's a very common drug used for those with rheumatoid arthritis people take it for many years.

Dr. J in DC does not use Plaquenil.

I went to my eye Dr. for regular my exam and she said the Visual Field(s) Test is the one to have. I wasn't on Plaquenil but Lyme and cos can affect our eyes and I wanted them checked.
I recommend if you're going on Plaquenil to have a baseline test done.

I think it tests our Peripheral vision - and you may not notice a change so don't wait for that to happen

I failed Visual Contrast Sensitivity as can be expected after mold exposure. Something is messing with my eyes, no doubt about it. They are better than they were before, but the only thing it responds to at all is Doxy, so I suspect ocular Bart.

I am overdue for another baseline test.
