Ok, maybe I won't be going on this. Got a call from the pharmacy, my portion after insurance pays for half is over $2000?! What do I do? All my meds up until now have been $30-$100.

A 90 day supply thru adc was pretty cheap, feels real deal...shipping is where they get ya ...it knocked back my giadia and helped my migraines a lot ...emo herx made human interaction hard. .maybe worth pursuing

My LLMD will order through a pharmacy in the Midwest, still pricy but not $2000!

Are you in the states? We have a fairly well known HI company and a 30 day supply is $55 (or $65) then we get it back through flex spending.

Is $2000 for a years worth, which would still be really expensive.

$2000 was for 60 pills, one month supply! It makes me furious, I don't know HOW they can charge that much. Total actual price was over $4000 but insurance would pay half that. Somebody is running a racket.
The other pharmacy will be like $350.

That is truly crazy and a definite racket. How can we get outs for a relatively affordable amount and then yours is 20x that amount. Criminal.

What is Alinia for? My husband's being treated for GI lyme symptoms so wasn't even sure what Alinia does.

Alinia is an anti-parasitic...and is sometimes prescribed for Babesia.


Although, someone posted (jrspf?) that she was prescribed it for bart.

You know everything! Makes sense. My husband was given mainly anti-parasitics and LLMD thinks he may also have Bart. I definitely think he has Bart.

Does Bart have a parasitic component to it?

It's total insanity, Mepron and Alinia are both crazy expensive. For profit healthcare system sucks big time.

Both Alinia, and GlaxoSmithKline (makers of mepron) have patient assistance programs.

Some unemployed and uninsured people can actually get both of these meds FREE, if you qualify.

Chick-The pharmacy that my doc uses and I'm sure it's the same one your's is saying they'll use charges $300 for a months supply (60 pills). They don't charge for shipping but the meds do take about a week or so to get to you. They will call you to see if you need a refill. The meds are real-I changed insurance on 1/1 and new insurance didn't cover. Same exact pills as I had.

You can get alinia through Pharmapassport.com, which is a pharmacy in Canada. I just ordered my first month supply for $50 without insurance.
