Yes and they came up negative, but I have many Bart symptoms. Igenix did the test.

Jenny ,scott f recommends galaxy ..if your looking for coinfections a simple microscope and giemsa staining kit would probably cost less than the test and be more accurate. .

I did the same test BJD55 did at the beginning of tx for microti and duncani babs, along w/ IGeneX for Lyme (CDC positive) and Fry Labs for Bart (positive for something mysterious but responded to bart tx).
The babs FISH for microti & duncani were negative. Had babs retested recently through DNA Connections, also negative. As I near the end of my Lyme & Bart tx, babs sx have flared so I'm pretty certain I have it.
The problem with most of these tests is there are over 200 strains of babs… the tests are looking for individ strains (microbe, duncani)…
I tested while protesting only because herbal protocols I've tried haven't helped and insurance needs a positive test to cover meds.
I'm really liking bluelyme's suggestion for giemsa staining and will probably try that myself if they also do babs.

I had it for coinfections. Bartonella came back positive but everything else was negative. Maybe that's why insurance doesn't want to pay for Alinia.
This testing business is SO frustrating and SO costly! I'm sick of spending money on boring health things. Sigh.

Positive twice for Babesia Duncani via FISH test with Igenex. I think the FISH through Igenex works very well.

I'm going nuts over this. All so confusing.
I've been tested for babesia duncanii through arup labs doing a pcr and an ifa which both came back negative. Also had negative ifa through focus (quest) for Bartonella Henslae. Also, negative Lyme C6 peptide through arup, negative elisa through quest AND labcorp.
Igenex otoh, For Lyme, indeterminate igM wb, negative igG. The igenex pcr tests for Bb were negative. Babesia duncanii fish positive, ifa igM positive, igG negative.
Bartonella henslae ifa igM and IgG positive.
Pcp and id specialists won't treat me based on my igx results. My ND is at sea when it comes to Lymeco and the wait list to see an ilads doc is long. Arrrrgh.
I'm glad to see pirouette, that you're successfully treating. Without a positive test, how do you know which symptoms are from which bug? It doesn't seem like the bigwigs are even in agreement on this unless you have a bart rash or sore feet.

Thanks guys bjd every single person I've talked to that has done DNA connections has gotten a positive result from it. It includes both DNA and pcr. But it's $500 which is expensive for me 😭
