Hello and thank you for reading my post.

I have received test results from Germany and would like your opinion on them as they are not crystal clear to me.

LymeSpot revised:

Yersinia antibodies

I hope some of you have more insight in test results than I have and can give me some advice.

I see my CD57 is at zero, which I'm obviously concerned about. I'm not quite sure what to think of the borderline borrelia test.

I have earlier done negative ELISA and western blot tests.

For your test results for your LymeSpot testing, you can see that they are in the range of the "borderline" results. This is significant. Do you have the results of your older Western Blot? That would give us a better idea possibly, but your response on the LymeSpot are enough for many LLMD's to start treatments.

You didn't list the reference ranges for the Chlamydia pneu.

As the test states, you also have Yersinia, Coxsackie and cytomegalovirus. These would be considered co-infections and we are seeing more and more Lyme patients with positive tests for these infections as well - it may be because they are finally testing for them more often though.

I have not read all of the "new to lyme" thread yet, but definitely will.

The Chalmydia Pn. is part of the LymeSpot test has the same reference range, so this result is also borderline.

After i got my negative WB I called the lab, and they told me that no bands were positive. This is all i got. This test was taken at SynLab.

Any thoughts about my CD57 level? I realize this test is controversial, but I can't escape the fact that a test of "0" sounds really bad sad

Well, I do agree that a result of 0 for the CD57 isn't a good thing!! But it may raise substantially with effective treatments for these infections. It's something that I would encourage you to keep track of too - even though no one knows what all goes into regulating the CD57. about all we know is that it's tied to immune function.

For some, treatment for these infections alone will raise their CD57, but not for others. It's possible that you have all of these infections that need to be addressed before it will raise as well. The thing is though, don't expect your treatments to directly affect those CD57 results. Ugh - it's so confusing since we don't know much about this test.

What we do know is that for some with a really low CD57, they can still have a mild "case of Lyme" (very few or minimal symptoms), where as someone with a higher CD57 can have severe symptoms and be very ill - or the other way around. We do know that for some, they can track their healing by having the CD57 tested regularly, but for others, they can have zero symptoms and still have a very low CD57.

So, we don't know much about it.

Are you seeing a LLMD yet? Have you had a chance to speak to them about your test results yet? IF so, what do they have to say?

Yes, I would probably put myself in the medium affected range with tons of different symptoms that vary in intensity. I will definitely keep track of it and see if it improves over time.

Unfortunately there are no LLMDs in my country and I have to travel to Germany. I actually went there for my first appointment to get a proper evaluation and take the tests. I am going back in another two weeks, and they will then give me the diagnosis and/or treatment plan.

I called the reception and got some info from the person answering phones, and that it was certainly some results they would recommend to follow up. She could not give me a diagnosis as she is not a doctor, but it is possible to get a phone consultation. Since I've already decided to travel down there, I might as well save the few bucks I can.

If I am to get treatment I will probably have to get it there (BCA clinic in Augsburg), as it is not easy getting proper treatment here in Scandinavia. Hopefully I can get my GP onboard on whatever treatment is recommended, but probably only to the extent of taking labs and monitoring the conditon.

If you will send me an email, I do have some resources that I can share with you that are available in the area you are talking about. BCA has mixed reviews for getting real help with these infections.

RedLabel, you will get better responses if you start a new thread for each new topic.

All the current testing relies on finding either the bacteria or antibodies to the bacteria is the problem, and the Lyme bacteria lowers the immune response (so enough antibodies are very hard to find), and it only takes a small amount of bacteria to cause a very serious illness, so the individual bacteria can be hard to capture as well.
