As if ticks didn't carry enough- just saw this article on Powassan Virus: http://time.com/4767290/powassan-virus-ticks/

I share this article not to cause alarm; rather, I found it to be good that Time was covering another tick-borne illness. I see more journalistic coverage as a way to lead to more prevention tips, awareness, and hopefully attention to Lyme.

I don't mind saying that when I saw this coming through facebook the other day, the first thing to come to mind was "another CDC started diversion away from the Lyme problem".

I've no doubt it's real, but when the articles that come through there start off "More dangerous than Lyme", I have forcibly sit on my hands and keep silent.

ETA: Aloha, not to take away the importance of you sharing this on the board at all. Not everyone is on fb or see's these articles, and it's important to be forewarned.

I just wish I'd seen ANY articles on Lyme at all even in the past 13 years I've been on line. Now of course, it's kind of late.

In some respects, yes, this does bring the conversation to "tick-born diseases" and that's a way to reference Lyme.

And, in some respects, Powassan is being regarded by all as much more dangerous and therefore important than Lyme.
