Sorry to about your c-diff infection.
The wife had it after surgery. They gave her vancomyicin for 14 days. After the prescription ran out, about 3-4 days later she relasped and had to go back into the hospital. Another round of antibiotics.
In 2005 the wife went in for weight reduction surgery. Today she has had 8 or 9 surgercyies. Presently, her stomach is shot. Waiting for approval for another surgery, but I think it is to late as she is not digesting any food.
After 32 years, I don't really know how I am going to handle this loss.
Her orginal surgery I asked her why don't you stay on the diet as she had to lose 30 lbs before they would do the surgery. Was informed that I was the most stupid man on the face of the earth...wish she had listened to me!
If it was cancer, TB, lyme, Hep-c, something simple that I can cure, but, after 10 stomach surgeries which began as an elective, I can't rebuild the stomach...
God Bless Claude
P.S. Lyme and C-diff are both gram Neg, so the vancomycin would be effective on either of them. Again, if this next surgery allow her to absord food, she to will need a fecal transplant.
