No I went with William Rawls new book and Buhner Bart and Mycoplasma, his new book was my runner up choice and I only allowed myself two, but I respect the guy. I've heard him speak and he seems to know Lyme.
Odd that the two books I chose are both more geared toward natural approaches and here I am using mostly allopathic. But should the drugs fail me, at least I will have have a backup plan.
The first day Tini was a herx at 500mg once daily, afterwhich it was uneventful and I questioned if it was doing anything.
I tolerated it well and each time I revisited it, I took the dosage up (except when it coincided with Nitazoxanide) and the last was 500mg tid.
All of my use has been 2 weeks on and two weeks off.
In the unfortunate event I get cancer I would suspect the mycotoxins from the mold before Tini.
GIRLIE: The odd thing is Doxy does hit Bart to an extent but Bart comes back. I am fairly certain I am dealing with ocular bartonellosis right now. I was forced back on the Doxy from the epidydimal flare up and although it is working for both issues I know I am going to need the Rifampin to resolve this.
Doxy alone isn't enough to treat bart that is a long-standing infection. Maybe that's why you feel "Bart comes back" - because it hasn't actually been cleared. Rifampin is a good one for bart. (again with another antibiotic)
Interesting the books you chose. Dr. Rawls - although an MD - I wouldn't follow what he says about
treating lyme and co's with antibiotics...he said a few things that aren't right.
(one was that doxy will take care of the coinfections except babesia...and that's not true for bartonella. And he also mentioned taking abx for no longer than 30 days...and stopping ...I think he said for 30 days before starting again.)
I'd have to find it again...to see exactly what he wrote.
But, according to some members here, he is knowledgeable in other aspects - herbals, support, etc. So, his book will be handy if/when you switch to herbals.
