Can lyme rash reappear years after initial infection?!

Hi, me again. This is something like my third post of the week but I have chronic lyme and most of this is all very new to me so I might post a lot on here in the coming days, lol.

I had the initial bulls eye rash when I first got lyme in 2003, but back in 2013 I was sitting at home in my kitchen one afternoon and I looked down at my arm and there was this bulls eye rash on it. Just randomly out of nowhere. It was sort of a faint reddish color but it basically looked like the initial bulls eye rash I had in 2003. Except in 2003 the rash was on my left side near my rib cage.

It couldn't have been a new infection on my arm because within several hours, the rash slowly faded and disappeared completely.

Is it possible for a lyme rash to appear years later on another part of the body? I wasn't treating the lyme with any meds or anything at the time so it couldn't have been a herx.

Any info/insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Yes, the rash can reappear after the initial infection. Often it happens when we herx...but I don't think it's limited to that.

And...people have reported that it can reappear in a different area of the body.

Yes, it could be a new infection.

And yes, it could be from the initial infection.

I very faintly remember seeing a gigantic splotchy rash across my back when I first was hit with a week-long flu when I was initially infected - not 100% sure because I was really out of it and very ill. Then nothing until 16 yrs when I started on IV Rocephen - and since then I've had smaller EM rashes pop up everywhere - behind knee, torso, groin, thighs, breast. So very weird.
