I don't know if Babesia is like Lyme in this respect, but I know with Lyme, the IgG may be positive and not showing IgM antibodies because the immune function isn't high enough to 'register' the 'newer made' IgM antibodies.

"Generally speaking". LOL! This happens with Lyme because the longer we are infected, the more opportunity the bacteria have to lower the immune function effectively - which is why, after 40 years of carrying these infections without any treatment, it took 12 months of treatment to get a positive Lyme test for me.

That drove me nuts, so I had to find out why, after that long of carrying an infection, I wasn't producing antibodies - it seemed logical that the longer I went untreated, the more antibodies I would have - but not with Lyme, so if Lyme is possibly involved, then it doesn't matter what other infection a person may be talking about, the immune system is too compromised to respond.
