Anyone have any anecdotes and opinion on what to start with for B. Duncani?
Before adding any other and assuming you had a choice would you select
Mepron, Alinia, Tinidazole, or other and why ?
Which is best tolerated?
I did Artemisinin rounds for Babs when I was treating bartonella...had some herxes...but it seemed to wane after several rounds.
I'm now taking Mepron - on a pulsed schedule with minocycline and a third med (which has changed a couple of times because I run out of my 'leftovers')
It has hit me hard...really hard.
I have just completed Cycle 4 and have just started my week off (yesterday) - so hoping to see more of a pattern now...of feeling somewhat better on my week off with no 'killing' happening.
Today is better than yesterday so far...but it's early ...a lot can happen...lol.
I have been on the Mepron for 11 weeks now. There have been some interesting changes.Interesting, have you used Tinidazole or Nitazoxanide (Alinia) and how long?
I think if I had Babs I may have hit this early using Nitazoxanide and later Tini.
The only symptom that I could associate with it were night sweats and waking up at 3am.
It only happened sometimes.
So I am hoping when I begin the Rifampin for Bart hopefully I wont have an increase in Babs.
Which species of Babs are you dealing with?
