Not sure why but it seems that with flare ups the Lyme/batonella gets harder each time to put down..
symptoms seem to worsen.

First of all, I have to ask, are you sure it's a flare and not a herx? If it's a herx, then it makes a lot of sense, as that is showing that your body isn't detoxing well enough yet to keep up with everything.

For me, herxing and flares are hard to tell apart when I get down to 'feeling' the difference. I usually just up my detoxing to begin with to see if that helps, using binders regularly too. If that doesn't help after a couple of weeks, then I start looking elsewhere.

I would call it a flare up due to the symptoms always come back with leg twitching followed by numbness etc. then I go and start treatment which can cause the herx. I know this time I have herxed due to muscle burning in my legs after treatment.

To others. Based on my experience of treatments, Unless I want to do orals for months and months the Vancomycin Iv is MY quick knockdown. However this time I will make sure that I do continuing treatment past 30 days as my previous Dr's only did over the years.

Do you have bladder problems? I've never heard of a flare up from Lyme. I was under the impression that you're in remission or you're sick.

I am probably guilty of using "flare" and "herx" interchangeably - but tcoach1 - I think you're flaring. If you're treating and you're experiencing your symptoms and/or other sx associated w/ Lyme/bart (whatever you're treating) that come and go... you're most likely herxing.

I'd just continue finding new ways to detox, make sure your gut health is optial, make sure you're not too active, and reducing other burdens on your immune system (like viral load(s), yeast/fungal overgrowth, poor diet, etc.).

You could also incorporate an herbal protocol that you could take for many months after you're symptom free.
