Hi friends,

Hoping to get your opinions... For the past several weeks, I have had awful fatigue. I would say 5 out of 7 days a week I hit a wall at around 1 in the afternoon. It's not just a "I need to sit down" tired, it's fatigue where I need to lie down in bed or a on couch and go to sleep. I'll sleep for close to an hour and be a bit groggy when I wake. I'm not used to this type of fatigue and it's starting to bother me. I've some peace of mind in that I had a CBC done in March and all was fine. One thing I thought of was that I started taking a B complex in December along with B shots even though my levels were normal. My B12 went very high so I stopped taking the supplement about 2 months ago. I'm wondering if maybe my body got used to the supplements and now wants the higher levels? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for reading.

Just a thought, have your adrenals been tested?

They have, through saliva. I am low on the afternoon and evening. I thought of that, but we suspect my adrenals have been fatigued for years. This fatigue is new so not sure I can blame it on adrenals. Thanks smile

Hi BKP -

Yes, it could be the missing B12.

Could definitely be adrenal fatigue - the treatment, lack of B12, could be stressing adrenals further.

And exhaustion also points toward high viral loads so that's something else to check.

Fatigue for me was related to the lyme. As I treated it got better. Siberian ginseng was great for energy. Eleutheros. I have no experience with noticing fatigue related to B levels. Feel energized soon!

Are you taking any herbs? I also had severe mid-day fatigue which improved after I stopped taking Eleuthero and an Astra Isatis blend.

Thanks, all! I'm not currently on any herbs, I'm still trying to formulate a good plan I know I'll stick with.

Pirouette, How can I treat the high viral load? I actually started taking serrapeptase awhile back and I believe that's when the fatigue started. I stopped a few weeks ago, though, so don't know if I can blame on that.

Multifaceted, How did you treat your Lyme? Herbals or antibiotics?

I would suspect the adrenals as well because it's at a specific time daily. If it was viral, it would be a bit more "flexible" as to when the fatigue hit. Next on the suspect's list, I'd look at viruses as well.

Do you know what viruses you have? It would be best to make this a targeted attack, but Buhner's has a lot of good anti-virals in his protocols, some broad spectrum and some more targeted for specific infections.

I don't know which viruses I have, if any. I know I have HSV and I had EBV in the past, but not aware of anything else. I've been to a million doctors, I would hope someone would've let me know if there were other viruses lurking! I'm wondering if maybe I should just start using some broad spectrum antivirals? Have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I use Lysine to combat EBV and HSV. But there are other antiviral herbs as well. Olive leaf extract is a good one, as well as oil of oregano, but they will both make most Lyme patients herx - which is why I like the Lysine (LOL!) - I don't herx from taking it. It doesn't really kill the virus, but shuts down the pathway it uses to replicate.
