Add Doxy to your Diflucan...

I got some Diflucan today, and when reading the interactions for Doxy I found this,

so if you are taking a rest from abx and Diflucaning your yeast, you might want to keep the Doxy in play smile

nice, It will be interesting to see how I do with it.

Also, I'm taking compounded Doxy, which is supposedly liposomal. (for those having stomach issues).

It is a bit pricier, but you get it cold shipped and you need to refrigerate it.

That article gives the nod to Rifampin also. Now I am on both (as well as Mino which is Doxy like) and I was thinking about reducing the Fluconazole a bit just to see if I can.

We will see if I can or if things get strange.

there appear to be some interactions with Rifampin, where rifampin weakened the effect of Diflucan..

I paused my Rifampin last week to give my liver a break.

Practically identical to Doxy as far as synergy.

I need to reduce fluconazole as I have been on it over a year now. Fingers crossed Rifampin lets me do so.

400mg per day. I took January off and returned to Fluconazole in mid February of this year.

thanks - I took it for a week...didn't notice anything.

And now I'm taking it two days in a row every few days...

thanks - I took it for a week...didn't notice anything.

I have noticed it often takes 3 months to get any desired effect with many chronic yeast conditions.

I think its good for anyone on a large amount of antibiotics to do every 72 hours so it remains in the blood. I have seen it recommended as little as once weekly and once monthly by docs.

For me it's more of a preventative - I don't seem to have any Candida issues...
