Dude, I guess my instinct is to stop the Ceftin as I didn't have this problem when I was just on Mepron and Zith.
That said, I've been on ABX since November, so I'm wondering if my stomach is just done with them at this point. I would rather not go the IV route, but will if I have to (though my LLMD hasn't gone there yet).
I do try to drink half my body weight in water or about 55 ounces. And, yes, urine output is pale yellow to clear. I definitely try to hydrate.
KB69,
I say "Go with your gut!"
As for the water intake, you may be overdoing it. I know there's a lot of fervor about
"hydrating," but our parents, grandparents, etc. never carried-around a water bottle and guzzled it beyond their natural thirst. From what I've read, urine should be a rich yellow -- not dark, not pale, and certainly not clear. (NOTE: Taking certain vitamins will likely skew this test.)
Like anything else, one can drink too much water. In extreme cases, it can cause Hyponatremia - a condition that occurs when the level of sodium in your blood is abnormally low. In less severe cases, aside from making you run to the bathroom frequently, it can lead to cold hands/feet/tip-of-nose, lower body temperature (and, in turn, some suggest metabolism), salt cravings, and others I can't recall.
Granted, I'm not a Doctor, so you can research the matter a bit more yourself. Also, don't overlook my prior comments about
juicing/blending. That might also lead you to something helpful.
Wishing you the best,
The Dude
