Saw llmd today

Hello lovely people,

So I saw my llmd today to discuss results. And looks like I did test positive for babesia. I've been on omnicef for 3 weeks.
He added bactrim ds twice a day ( I don't see a dosage on the bottle which is odd lol)
And I'm also still on the omnicef 1200mg a day. I see him again in 4 weeks. I'm assuming he's starting me off slow??

What's everyone think?

I have so little knowledge of antibiotics. But, knowing what you are up against is huge. Here's to kicking it's butt.

bactrim ds - I believe the ds stands for double strength.


So, I'm thinking you will be taking one twice daily.

Bactrim is an effective antibiotic.

I have trouble tolerating it, but it does have some 'action' against bartonella and babesia.

Bactrim can be a doozy .it sparked a vaculitis in me..not everything is a herx

Starting these abx really scare me. How did u know u got vasculitis??

I tolerated Bactrim pretty well.

Yes I saw him this morning. I think he's straight to the point and I like that. If in a few months I don't see any improvement then I'll look into switching.

Summer, do u still see him?

Yes, I do. We decided not to go the antibiotic route so I am on Byron White's A-Bart. It is a potent tincture but I am upping slowly. I do like him but have found out I need to ask questions to get answers.

Start the Bactrim ds on once a day dosing and see how you do.
