Hello everyone,
It's that time again. I'm in my second go at it with ABX.
So I have timing questions:
When taking all 3 ABX, Probiotic, Anti-Fungals, when should I take them and how should I space them out?
I'm hoping this time I wont have stomach issues. The first time I was so new to lyme and didn't know any of this stuff so I just took ABX for several weeks with no probiotics or anti-fungals (I know pretty crazy right?).
And of course it caused gut issues and candida for a month. I stopped ABX and treated this new problem and it took a month of all kinds of digestive problems and debilitating cramps to stop. Not to mention leaky gut which then caused food allergies.
I am most certainly trying to avoid this happening again.
Any helpful insight is much appreciated.
Thank you.
I was told (my LLND) it was fine to take the anti-fungal (diflucan) same time as my antibiotics. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will post why that's not a good idea. Many of us aren't on anti-fungals right away...and just do some rounds of them sporadically during our treatment. Other LLMD's have their patients take the Diflucan throughout - maybe one week a month.... or two days every few weeks...it really varies ...there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the dosing/frequency of anti-fungals.
As far as the abx and probiotics. Make sure they are spaced apart by a couple of hours. If you take abx close to the probiotics, the abx will just kill off the good bacteria.
If possible, take some probiotics after your last daily dose of abx...so they probiotics can populate over night while you sleep.
If something needs to be taken on an empty stomach then that would be one hour before food or two hours after food.
