I'm currently living in Los Angeles (near West Hollywood) but occasionally get back up to Los Gatos/San Jose. I'd appreciate any feedback and advice as to the best LLMD's in these areas. Thanks!

Pistachi0-Your welcome to email me for LLMD's and ND's in the San Francisco area. Unfortunately there aren't any real one's in the south bay. I'm in Almaden Valley and my doc is in San Francisco. I did some IV ozone at an ND's office in Los Gatos before my LLND was offering it at his office and I couldn't beat the location. Since the ND in Los Gatos was seeing so many Lyme patients for ozone treatments he considered himself Lyme Literate. I asked him some very basic questions and he couldn't answer them.

I'd also check with Bay Area Lyme Foundation to see if they know of any dr's at Stanford who will accept your igenex results. I assume if you looked into Stanford dr's they're covered by your insurance. The LLMD/Nd's in the Bay area are not covered by insurance. If you are on a ppo some of your blood work and most of your rx's will be covered .

jrspf - I have some listed for Los Altos, Redwood City, Pleasanton - is that not considered the south bay?

This may not be helpful, but there is one in Seattle who requires that the first visit be in person, but then does follow ups via phone and skype. He can prescribe / ship supplements anywhere in the US - lyme is his specialty.

Girlie-The doc in Redwood city moved his office to Foster City just an fyi and no it takes 5 minutes less to get there as it does to get to San Francisco. Not South Bay. If it's Dr G (a female) that you have listed in Los Altos they only see patients at the San Francisco office. Los Altos is mid peninsula and Pleasonton is sort of East Bay.

I know it's totally unfamiliar territory for you-for most of the south bay it's roughly an hour to San Francisco. Mid peninsula is roughly half way between the two.

sda-most doc's will do phone or skype appt's after the initial but require that you come in every x amount of months (I think around 6 months or so)

Pistachi0 - There isn't any Lyme doc in south bay San Jose area. I am seeing a doc in the north bay. 1.5~2 hour drive from the south.
There the medical group has many LLMDs, and you can get to choose who you want based on their style of treatment. And if you don't like one doctor's approach then you can switch or get an opinion of a different doctor in the group. The doctors are knowledgeable. I started with this doc last month after I figured out my Lyme.
My doc has me on an initial small treatment plan along with my daily rituals until we get all the lab results back, and yet I am already seeing results! Severe fatigue is one of my symptoms. and this weekend I was unusually active for 12 hours or more daily, I have been out, went hiking, spent a lot of time in the sun, in the pool, and no Lyme fatigue! The downside of their group is that it is not well organized, not a well-run office. You can email me if you are interested, I will let you their info.

Thank you all for responding both here and by email!

I would consider a Seattle doctor....or, just about anywhere. I have lots of flyer miles and no energy to travel, so why not? If the doc was better and/or less expensive it might make sense. Are there docs out-of-State that might be recommended over those here?

Docs at Stanford won't accept the Igenex reports. Stanford only treats Lyme when it shows up as acute in their testing.
