3-4 months possible lyme

Hello everybody!

I've had the pleasure of reading "Healing Lyme" by Stephen Harrod Buhner, and while it was terrifying reading about such a developed bacteria I was also extremely fascinated(I'm a future medical student)

So far in my process I've been having symptoms(flu-like in the beginning, numbness and joint pains a couple of weeks ago)

BUT I'm on antibiotics(doxy 200mg a day) which I know is not enough and I'm hoping on getting more very soon.

I want to begin the Buhner's protocol(slowly amounts in the beginning of course) and taking 400mg of doxy for 2 months.

I know it can be difficult to tell, but wouldn't you think that if I didn't have any symptoms for 2 months, that I would've eliminated Lyme disease for good?

Unfortunately my nearest LLMD is 3 hours away and so far I've heard so many great things about this method so I want to try this out myself.

The method I'm about to use, wouldn't it eliminate all the co-infections as well?

I've taking a lot of time of reading a lot of your posts and chats and I would like to thank all of you for helping the ones in need. Without forums like this, a lot of people would still be carrying symptoms so bad without knowing what was wrong(including me)

I totally agree with you on Buhner, his book is fascinating to say the least. I believe if you read the whole book not just the protocols the scientific information you gain can help you not only heal Lyme and co., but restore and rebuild damage that has been done to our bodies.

Yes, always begin slow, if you are doing tinctures start with only 1 to 2 drops of one herbal at atime.
That way you can tell which herbal you have a negative reaction to, just in case.

It takes time to build up but its safer that way. You know your own body and watch for herxing too.

I believe you do need the 400 mg a day of doxy.

Buhner does have different protocols for the other co infections. He has written other books about them.
They are very good books also.
There are also Buhner herbalists that you can contact for treatment advice. Not sure how much the cost is. There was an older post about that , maybe if you do a search it will come up.

I'm glad to hear that you approve.
The co-infections however can still exist after my 2-months symptoms free treatment, is that what you mean?

Herxing comes after taking too much of a specific herbal, right? Because again, I'll start off slow and see how it goes.

I know that it definitely would be wise for me to go to an LLMD, however since I'm financially troubled, isn't it okay for me to use this approach and see how it goes? Or is a llmd a must?

I know a lot of these questions have been mentioned in forums and it might seem like "I'm not doing any research myself", but I just want to make ABSOLUTELY sure of my actions, that way I can eliminate it from my own body and possibly help people with the disease when I graduate from medical school in Denmark.

If you are symptom free and take the antibiotics for two more months...then you can stop...or continue taking an herbal protocol just to be safe.
That would include the co-infections. If you had co-infections you would have symptoms.

My main concern though is to get the antibiotics...

Doctors only prescribe 200mg at a time, so I'll have to go to multiple doctors and pretend I'm haven't received any before

i agree two months after being symptom free is sufficient.

Also when I read Buhner's books it actually wasn't frightening for me. It had the opposite affect. Learning about them and learning that these bacteria are beatable and not some super invincible organism actually brought less terror.
