I've been on 300mg Zithromax daily and 100mg x 2 of Minocycline for about two months. I've slowly been getting more fatigue, urine frequency and urgency, and in the last two days some nausea that I haven't had until now.
I was seeing a LLNP where I live, but she wasn't very helpful and sent me to other practitioners- almost like my case was too complex for her to handle - after seeking a second opinion in May with another LLMD she decided to release me from her care. "If someone else is managing your Lyme, I'm not."
So, I sought someone else to do my annual physical. That person doesn't want to do a full blood draw on me because I just had one about 8 weeks ago.
Today I went to MedExpress with the hopes that I could convince them to check blood for me, and the doctor refused. He told me that my liver and kidneys could be under strain as a result of the long term abx-I already know this - but his excuse for not doing the blood work after me point blank asking for it was because I needed continuity of care at my gp 's office. Sigh.
How are you guys handling blood draws? Does your GP do them, and how did you convince them to do so? If your LLMD orders them, does insurance pay for them?
My LLMD is on vacation this week (only practitioner in the office), so now I'm left trying to decide whether to err on the side of caution and stop abx until Mon when I see her or continue taking drugs that could be doing damage.
Just spoke to someone last night that has been dealing with this disease for maybe 15+ years, and he regrets his two years of abx usage. Isn't sure it truly helped him any more than a holistic approach of managing diet, stress reduction, supplements, exercise and earthing. So confusing.
Doctor this morning was very concerned about the two months straight of abx, but not concerned enough to run the blood work. Feeling like a leper again.
Thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated!

When you're on abx - you should be having regular blood work done - to monitor liver, kidney function along with a CBC
Two months straight of abx - the Dr. shouldn't be concerned. And, you're right - if he's so concerned he should be having you do blood work. What a moron. (sorry)
If you're not comfortable with abx - then why not switch over to herbals?
