I have lyme, babesia and probably bartonella. I have ongoing anxiety on the verge of panic attacks most of the time.
I am treating babesia and lyme right now. I've read that babesia can cause panic attacks but I was wondering about
just daily serious anxiety. I hate it.

HI Loutucky
I know others have posted about
having these same symptoms. They thought it was both Bart and Babesia that caused this.
These are good sites to check out.

Is this a new symptom since starting a different treatment? or could you have an ongoing herx?
Im sorry you are going through this, is there anything that you have noticed helps a bit with it?

So very sorry. I've had some periods of anxiety that were brutal, and it's just unreal how horrible it is, so I feel you. My doctor is suspicious of Bartonella, but we don't have a test to confirm, only a clinical diagnosis.
I hope you figure out the culprit and get it under control soon!
Peace,

Thanks everyone. This is a symptom that is ongoing but getting much worse. I suspect bartonella is coming out.
My eyes are killing me also. My doctor thinks it is all neurological lyme and babesia. I am going to call and plead for bactrim to add to the malarone in case I am right. Either way, this is awful even with detox.

Loutucky, I am right there with you. The anxiety is pure h*ll. I am back on antibiotics after being off them for over a year except for doxy. My new LLMD gave me a script
for 10 pills of Lorazepam but I am refraining from taking them due to the addiction potential and withdrawal affects when weaning off them. I just started Bactrim along with Doxy. My LLMD suggested taking Kava Kava and one of our mods had been using it. I also take 35 drops of Motherwort up to 6 times a day along with a calming formula called Theanine Serene by Source Naturals which has magnesium chelate, GABA, Taurine, L-Theanine, Holy Basil and Relora. They only take the edge off but at least it is something that helps a bit. I journal (do paper work even if it is re-copying something and do research on these stupid diseases ~ even though I don't retain the info ~ so I write everything down. That is another way of keeping me distracted .....lol.
Somehow we will overcome this symptom as many of the members have done.
There is a test that can confirm Bartonella. I don't remember the name of the test. The only drawback is that it costs $1000.

the extreme anxiety and panic attacks seem more often from babesia than bart but varies depending on individual. my wife has been dealing with some debilitating anxiety from babesia.

summer16, I am taking Motherwort also and something from my compounding pharmacy called Gaba Calm. I also have valium but I try and not use it. Anxiety just takes me over the edge. My insides tremor.
Rikky1, I feel so sorry for your wife. It is very debilitating. I can't even leave the house and my doctor wants me to have an MRI. Not happening anytime soon. I already know I have several lesions and don't want to know if they are growing.

LouTucky, I, too, am housebound. My sister took me to the doctor's appointment yesterday. That wasn't a pretty site. One day we will look back on this horrific time and pat ourselves on the shoulder for a job well done.
Rikky, I am so sorry your wife is going through this. Is she seeing Dr. J?

pretty much borrelia and all lyme co-infections can cause anxiety. Any pathogen powerful enough to throw your adrenals and thyroid out of wack can.

Bartonella and babesia both do this. Are you taking abx for your lesions?

dacarte3, I just hate the overlapping symptoms. I do need to address my adrenals. The fight/flight response is really messing them up.
jennydancingfish, I've been off/on antibiotics for 5 years treating bart, anaplasma, and lyme. I just started treating babesia late January 2017. Never knew I had it and hoping it was the reason I haven't got better. I am on antibiotics, antimalarials and herbs.
