Tick Bite on Top of Foot

A small tick bit the top of my foot a little over a month ago. I don't know how long it was on my foot for but it seems like it was only there for a few minutes.

First it started off with some redness. 7/1/17

Then it turned into a darker color a few days later.

Now my foot has become sore over the past couple of days and I don't recall doing anything to it. I still have a rash there as well. It feels like I have arthritis in my foot. 8/9/17

I've taken two rounds of antibiotics so far.
EPHALEXIN 500 MG for 10 days
SULFAMETHOXAZOLE-TMP for 7 days.

I'm wondering if I should seek an LLMD or if my regular dr can run some tests. Thanks in advance.

Also take Astragalus, 3000 mg per day for at least 30 days, Neither ABX was taken long enough. See if your PCP or an emergency center can get you a 30 day Rx of Doxy. You'll need to take 400 mg per day, but they will most likely give you only 200 mg per day. I did all this and it still went Chronic 3 years later.


Also get on a waiting list to see an LLMD ASAP. It may take a few months to get an appointment

you can also go to ilads.org and request llmd"s in your area.

You need more than what you've taken.

I would go to a different Dr. and ask for doxycycline 200 mg twice daily - you need to take it until the rash is gone...plus 4 more weeks. Do whatever you can to get this treated now...you do not want a chronic lyme infection.

You can also schedule an appt. with a LLMD - it may take several weeks to get in...and at that time you may need more abx if you're unable to get enough from a regular Dr,

to find a LLMD - start a new thread: "Looking for LLMD in/near_____" and fill in the blank.

You can also email me and I will check my list of LLMD"s and send you names if I have some for your location.
