lyme and vaccine reactions?

I got bite by my friend's dog tonight, and since the bite broke the skin, Kaiser is recommending I get a tetanus shot since it's been 9 years since my last one. I'm a little nervous about vaccines though because I got really sick after getting the flu vaccine in February, which I believe was shortly after I got lyme. Has anyone else had reactions to vaccines since getting lyme? And any thoughts/advice about this? Thanks!

I became seriously ill following the flu shot. Have not had any other vaccines but would not hesitate for a moment to have the tetanus shot if bitten by a dog.

I had to get a tetanus shot after cutting my finger badly on 'something in the trash' a few years back. No one in the area had "just" the tetanus, but I was able to get the T/D (tetanus/diptheria) vaccine. Boy, did I regret that! I had my symptoms really flare and when I called my doc, she said it was because I didn't "need" the diptheria part of the vaccine and I was instructed to take 3 charcoal caps 3 times a day to help. It really did help!!!

If you find your symptoms are increasing, you may want to consider doing this as well.

Yes space it out - 2 hours on either side of anything you don't want flushed out with it.

EG. Take abx at 5:00 p.m.

So, you can take it prior to 3:00 and after 7:00
