Thank you for your reply. Yes, the bacteria in the milk is my concern as well.
I had an appointment with an LLMD in our area for myself a few months ago & was disturbed by the fact that
1) he insisted on tests that I would have to pay for out of my pocket that I knew weren't going to give an accurate diagnosis--bart & babesia.
2) his staff would not supply us with any prices for the treatment they recommend
So I did not return to him & instead continued on the Buhner protocol I had started & added more protocols as I realized symptoms were related to different co-infections.
There are at least 2 LLMDs in our area but they have mixed reviews. The one doctor above, & then another doctor. I've read complaints of the same--the staff would not share prices for treatment & they got belligerent about the issue. And there was an article about the 2nd doctor, the one I did not go to, where a 22 yr claims she lost her gall bladder because of all the antibiotics he put her on for a 6 month period of time. The 1 antibiotic causes gall bladder problems. But when she questioned the doctor about the pain he was dismissive. She went to the hospital & they had to remove the gall bladder, & then they told her that in their testing of her, she did not even have lyme.
I am not enthusiastic about medical treatment in the first place (altho I know they have their place), but the personal experience I've had with a LLMD & then reading similar complaints makes me uncomfortable with LLMDs as well. The potential for abuse & taking advantage of a scary medical condition seems too real.
I do understand from what I've read, that early stage lyme responds best to antibiotics, so I don't have a problem recommending my daughter go to the family doctor for antibiotics. The concern will be if the doctor is educated enough to have her on them long enough. And the other concern is the baby.
I'm hoping moms in the same situation will respond to this thread with their advice so I can help educate my daughter. She is not in agreement with me treating my lyme & co-infections with herbs, despite my results, & so I know at this point she will only want antibiotics. Since I don't know anything about that course of action I was hoping to get feedback from those with experience.
