Coartem Question

Last year when I took Coartem, I stopped all medications on those 3 days. This time my doctor wants me to continue with the doxycycline on my Coartem days.

When I come off Coartem, I am supposed to take bactrim, doxy and malarone on the 10 days off and then repeat.

Has anyone taken Coartem while still continuing an antibiotic?

i've never heard of anyone taking any abx while doing coartem. i did a few rounds of it and i stopped all abx 3 days before, 4 days during my dosing of coartem and 3 days after then started up my abx regimen again.

i would ask him why he wants you to continue the doxy since you haven't found anyone that does that. frankly i would ignore him and not take the doxy regardless of what he says.
