I'm 16 and there is a significant chance I have Lyme. I was at a lake house on vacation last weekend, and I went for a hike. I did not remember getting bitten, but it is very possible. Starting Monday, I had flulike symptoms, headaches, fatigue, night sweats and chills, and eye pain if I looked two much into my peripherals, all for 3 days, stopping yesterday. I got a blood test Tuesday, but I think it was the ELISA, so even if it's negative, I plan to get other tests. Although I never had a distinctive rash, most never do. Two days ago, I got red dots all over my upper body, especially my arms and chest, and some on my legs. I think they might be petachiae, but I'm not sure. All symptoms except night sweats went away yesterday, and the dots (I'm not calling it a rash because it doesn't itch or hurt at all) are still here. The results of the test have not come back, but I will probably get them tomorrow or Monday.
Anyway, I would like to find a specialist so that if the test is positive, I can start treatment immediately, and if it is negative, I can find the other tests, and possibly start treatment anyway, just in case. Any referrals or advice on my situation in general is greatly appreciated. I need a doctor within about 100 miles of Doylestown, PA, which is north of Philadelphia. Also, I already submitted a request in ILADS, and should have results in 3 business days.
