I'm really intrigued by BVT now...
I live in a residential area, can't afford the monthly mailing of bees tho
I thought I was at least mildly allergic since I was a kid but then I survived an entire wasp nest of stings (like 12-24+) stings to my face, stomach, arms and torso when I was around 12 or so.
Wonder if there's a way to attract and make a small hive, looking into local beekeepers now...I know there's bees around, they like those yellow flowers with the tiny mace-looking barbed thorn under them.
I also wonder if some adventure and outdoors (I know sounds crazy) might stimulate my immune system and kick my life back into gear, some fresh air you know, drier, colder weather may be therapeutic from what I've read.
If I had any acreage I would fully explore the hive options, I think there are farmers nearby that do orange
clover blossom locally. Sounds like good stuff.
I also wonder if there's "something special" in that bamboo honey aka. japanese knotweed blossom honey per Buhner...I would totally let those bees sting me, but not without doing a test sting with maybe an asthma inhaler nearby (is Proventil Inhaler and Benadryl enough if I have a systemic reaction?)
Bee stings could be the bees knees..heh.
