Hi Everyone,

I am taking Cat's Claw (3 capsules) and Japanese Knotweed (2 capsules three times a day to treat a new or old Lyme infection.

Has anyone has a reaction from the herbs such as broken capillaries?

I have no experience with Japanese Knotweed (yet, just ordered some on Wednesday). I haven't taken Cat's Claw for Lyme (again yet, also just ordered some to try on Wednesday). I did take Cat's Claw daily in college freshman year for immune support (was terrified of catching colds, flu, etc while living in a dorm in close proximity to others) and never had any kind of reaction to it but everyone's body is different.

I never had a reaction to either JK or CC. I took the CC for a couple of months and the JK for many months.

Bartonella LOVES the endothelial cells, and one of the symptoms is broken capillaries/bruising and is also one of my frequent symptoms of a Bart herx or flare.

I have taken Cat's Claw for years and have never had any reaction. I also took JK for lyme and never had a reaction to it either.

If you are prone to broken capillaries, prevent them by not using really harsh scrubs on the skin, lay off the super-hot water to wash, and avoid steam facials, which dilate blood vessels.

Vitamin C with bioflavonoids taken orally may help prevent bruising and help keep blood vessels strong. As we age, capillary walls get weak and they start to permanently dilate. Over the years I have had to take more and more Vit C for capillary health.

You can tell if you are taking too much Vit C, you will get diarrhea. If that happens, just back off the amount you are taking.

Seems you are missing a potent antibacterial element here (andiographis) unless you are already taking antibiotics.

For some reason, my LLMD said that it wasn't necessary to take andrographis. Thoughts?

You should back off the dosage. High dosages of cat's claw can cause diarrhea, bleeding gums and a drop in blood pressure.

These are the "possible" side effects.

When I took any herb I always checked for the side effects before I took it.

I think some people think because it is an herb, it is totally safe to take any time at any dose. Herbs are medicine.

I've wondered about drop in blood pressure from cats claws so I'm taking a low dose of it to start.
