All the posts read were from 2011 or before has there been any comments since then?
Any success stories?

Is there a correlation between Lyme Disease and Moderate to Severe Autism in young adults?

The only correlation that I've read about has been that kids have been diagnosed with Autism when in fact they were born with Lyme or contracted Lyme very young and have never been treated.

Thank you, that is very helpful possibly exciting news and may possibly be the case in my 21 year old sons diagnosis!! We are trying to figure it out. Thinking of going to Paracelsus in Switzerland. Any news on that Clinic and success with eliminating Lyme and any possible "autism" elimination contacts or stories?

Hi Searching,

Been a long time since I posted and my heart goes out to your family and your son. I know Dr. David Jernigan (Hansa Clinic in Kansas) studied with Dr. Rau of the Paracelsus in Switzerland and he wrote a blog about the connection between ammonia and autism. Everyone has ammonia but people with lyme usually have elevated levels of ammonia which can cause havoc in the brain and other parts of the body.

When I had lyme I knew I had too much ammonia so I took Dr. Jernigan's CNS/PNS Antitox Formula. Silphitrin is also good too for binding up ammonia and purging it out of the body.

Yes this is VERY helpful....Thank you so much for writing back. My husband (deceased almost 14 years) always asked me if it could be something else besides autism. Back in 1999, I knew nothing about Lyme and still know very little except that my son has Lyme, and now I find that the "healthy" organic diet Ive had him on for several years may have made it worse.

Thank you for your insights......it would be amazing if a number of young adults with moderate to severe autism actually have Lyme and other co-infections.

Just curious, is it possible for a person with a good immune system not to feel the effects of Lyme for 10-20 years? Are you better now for a number of years, or do people need to keep going back for treatments?

Yes,this happens all the time to people. They can be just fine, then have a dental procedure, surgery, a death in the family (all stressful situations) and wham they are hit with a wall of symptoms since their immune system was compromised from the stress. For others it's not as drastic. Many think back and remember being bite.

Of course lyme may play role in this but everything starts from heavy metals which lower immune functions so body can't fight the bacteria.

Well, I'm not sure it is ONLY THIS brand that does the job, but I just copied the youtube text above.

It seems common sense to most of the alternative practitioners that autism or ADHD is connected to toxins such as heavy metals, and that these children have many infections (specially viruses and parasites).

Dr. K believes 100% (or close to) of autistic children has Borrelia species...

And that all are not able to detox well, that is why they need help to detox.

Hi Roberta and everyone else who is reading this,

I'm glad I can be of some help! In answer to your question about someone having lyme bacteria in their body but not feeling the effects for 10 to 20 years later I have to say YES in my opinion.

I personally believe most everyone has lyme bacteria but not everyone gets the "disease" depending on many factors (low stress levels, strong immune system, etc.). In my case I know I was bit by ticks or other vectors that carry lyme bacteria (the host of most lyme bacteria is the White Footed Mouse) since I was a child but I didn't get sick. It was much later in my life when I had high amounts of stress that I felt symptoms and became sick. Stress all by itself can make people sick with all sorts of diseases.

Yes, I am going on 12 years of being healed. I still detox (take detox baths, dry skin brush, exercise). I watch my diet as well. I don't ever want to get sick again and by doing these things I keep my immune system strong.

Anyway, I don't know enough about autism but from what I have read I think it could be a combination of many factors: high levels of ammonia, heavy metals, diet, not detoxing, etc.
