I think I made a HUGE mistake! I had to go to the dentist last Saturday because my jaw was hurting so much, I thought maybe I needed a root canal. The dentist did the exam and found a cavity but most of the pain was TMJ. I made him aware that I have Lyme (but have been off abx for almost three months now). His wife has Lyme so he seemed knowledgeable about it...
Except that he gave me an amalgram filling! I was in so much pain at the time that I got confused between amalgram and composite.
So here we are a week later and my anxiety has been horrible, my jaw pain is horrendous (I still can't chew a lot without electric shock like pain in my jaw - my friend saw me while I was having this pain and said I turned white as a ghost and looked like I was going to pass out), vertigo (nausea/dry heaving when standing), ear pain, and a constant falling sensation in my stomach (even when lying down).
Do I assume this is a reaction to the dental work? Or can it be the TMJ?
I've also been having so much back and hip pain that I plan on going back to my LLMD for a follow-up. What do I do in the mean time??
