Hi Haleybugs07 -
(do you watch Halt and Catch Fire? A character's name is Haley and her dad's nickname for her is Bug so it made me think of that)
I agree with Girlie -
EBV that is mostly dormant can get reactivated with Lyme & Co.
90+% of adults have EBV virus in their bodies. So it is not at all surprising that you have IgG antibodies, which means it's not something you have caught real recently and it looks like you might have had a high viral surge in the recent past. If you had NO IgG antibodies and registered some IgM antibodies that might suggest that you have a recent infection.
But - sometimes, none of that is true. So.... it's tough to know for sure.
I also had mono and had no idea I had it. I was in high school and had to get a physical for something - the lab called with results and I didn't realize that I was actually very sick. Weird. But the subseqent EBV surges were very noticeable and I had mono dozens of times in my teens and twenties.
With a past history of EBV, you're probably more susceptible to it. If you think you have symptoms going on right now, I'd treat it. If not, definitely keep your eye out for sx. Your immune system can get overwhelmed with a high viral load, which can interfere w/ Lyme & Co treatment. I have used both Rx and natural antivirals - for some reasons they work differently for me and I just have to try them out.
If you take Rx antivirals you need to be sure that you get your liver enzymes tested at least once/month and you should also use something for prevention like milk thistle seed, burdock root. They also work to reduce enzymes if they get too high.
Here is a list of herbal antifungals:
Lysine
Olive leaf
Oil of oregano
Licorice
Houttuynia
Ginger
Chinese Skullcap
Astragalus
(there are many other herbs that have anti-viral properties)
Provocation Neutralization
Samento
Hope this is helpful -
