Is it considered a toxic product? Are you still using normal hair dye or are there alternatives

I use henna which is a natural hair dye, I think they have a few colors for it

I looked on the Susan B Komen site, which is a Foundation dedicated to breast cancer, and they say no link between hair dye and cancer.

However, I switched several years ago to using aveda hair coloring because it has fewer chemicals. I can tell by the smell and it never stings my head the way the others used to. I also try to stretch out treatments to 8-10 weeks. One thing that helps is highlighting because for me at least it does a better job of hiding the grays (I have dark brown hair). I can sometimes go 3 months with highlighting.

I strongly advise against hair dye. I started getting gray very young so I dyed mine for almost 20 years. Had to stop 2 years ago when I finally had an allergic reaction. I'd had warning signs for years - redness and swelling in the back of my scalp. The reaction was different - itchy bumps down the side of my face. Took a month to get rid of. After that, I let my hair grow until it was barely long enough to cut all the colored hair out. I've sported short, gray pixie cuts ever since. No regrets.

I colored my hair for years. No adverse effects. This last year I went crazy and did the platinum, the balayage, and even went so far as to do a slight purple tint that showed in the sunlight only. I had a blast with waist long hair coloring.

Hubby has always loved natural hair color. So I went to my natural color, which I found out is grey on the top and still somewhat dark on the bottom. A natural balayage. LOL!

I have always used the best products I can on my hair.

Now I am sporting a short very natural curly hairdo. I can be ready to go hairwise in 10 minutes. I bought an awesome hair wetting bottle. I never knew my natural hair was curly. I have always had such long hair that the weight pulled out the curl.

Fun to be a girl and have so many options.

I don't know if it was the dye or what, my last time I had my hair colored, it only lasted 3 weeks. It also ran on my pillowcase. Salon color, too. So sad. I wondered if maybe my hair just wasn't holding the color. It's not grey. I have a few greys here and there, but nothing really noticeable. I also don't have the energy to do it at home. I've worried about the chemicals too.
