Yes I of course see your point, but this is a very gray area. And I wonder what the cost diff is- that is if they recognize lyme.
Unless one had CDC pos testing, (some do/did) I wouldn't tell them I had "chronic lyme" or even just "Lyme". Seems like that could be
opening a can of worms. If they specifically ask about
lyme with a check box- that's different, but still you need a cdc pos test. If it asks, without specific definition, I would ask them what they're definition of Lyme is.
The end is limitless to some extent. For example: 23andMe can show some scary stuff in some people, do we mention those things. Prob not. Wasn't Dr ordered, never seen that...........
Legally, there is a difference between out right denial (lying) and not mentioning things that were not asked. Didnt ask, dont tell, keeping it simple.
Past hist of heart attack, stroke, diabetes - thats different. They specifically ask about
smoking- so you have to say.
Most inc companies consider lyme no worse than pneumonia or bronchitis.
Since my health insc insisted I didnt have lyme per their definition and would not pay for treatment, I didnt have it. Was probably fibromyalgia as suggested, but wait...no test for that, hmm. Guess it was my thyroid, no big deal then.
I guess you will find out if they ask.
In my life insc experience from "normal death" they paid out no weird questions asked. Cause of death?, when?, where?, and the cert.
