Hi Traci -
I have struggled with the agitation and what I call "Lyme rage" since initially being infected 20 yrs ago and this and the other neurological-psychological sx remain the most difficult for me to address.
These were so much worse when I initially started treating or using an antimicrobial component. Reducing antimicrobial load helped but also, my Lyme-knowledgeable neurologist suggests most neuropathy is caused by inflammation, so focusing on that has helped. And so has working on a healthy GI - due to the gut-brain connection, neurotoxins in the GI can reach the brain and contribute to the neurotransmitter imbalances that cause these sx.
Clean diet, GI binders are also an absolute must to help with these. I also like brain detoxers like Nutramedix Pinella and Burbur.
also, for me I needed to figure out my triggers - and recognize the signs when my personality and thought process gets hijacked like it does. So that's helpful.
Some people try supplementing to rebalance neurotransmitters. You ight want to talk w/ your LLMD or naturopath about doing some neurotransmitter testing - a 4-5 sample 24 hr saliva test w/ urine sample.
Hang in there - keep talking about it and trying different things to detox.
