I started my Zithromax about
a week ago (soon to be adding in Mepron as well) and noticed that my hearing is muffled and ringing. It’s really bothering me now..
I read somewhere else that this is usually due to a mycoplasma herx which would make sense becuase I do have mycoplasma, but is that truly what it is? Or is it a more serious side effect?

I have read before that it can be a side effect of azithromycin.
Maybe talk to your Dr. or pharmacist about
it? Just to be on the safe side.
..or it could be a herx.

I also had this happen a few times when I was on azithromycin. I did not have the ringing though. Just a blocked/muffled ear sensation.
It did subside even while I was still taking the abx.
Girlie is correct though you should consult with your llmd about
it.

I stopped taking azith because of this. My hearing was like I had been to a loud bar or concert. Once I stopped it took over a week to go back to normal (i believe this is how long the drug stays in system). I tried it again months later and the same thing happened. I felt like it was a side effect of drug and did not want to damage hearing.

I just emailed my LLMD about
it to see what she says. I definitely feels like I was at a concert last night. Really annoying.. What would I pair with my Mepron instead though? Is there another drug that is similar that works just as well?
