Decreasing levels of immunoglobulins?

I have been treating for a few months now, but my immunoglobulin levels keep dropping. Here is the pattern from the past three tests:

Immunoglobulin M, QN, Serum: 73-->63-->48
Immunoglobulin A: 204-->184-->172
Immunoglobulin E, Total: 67-->62-->53
Immunoglobulin G, Serum: 848-->815-->730
Subclass 1: 411-->409-->345
Subclass 2:329-->315-->311
Subclass 3:49-->42-->35
Subclass 4:19-->17-->17

What does this mean? Is the infection resolving or my immune system getting weaker?

What type of treatments are you taking? Immunoglobulin levels can vary and you seem to be still in the (normal range). Have you checked your blood (CBC), is anything going down there too?
I think I've seen studies where antibiotic use may directly or indirectly affect the immune response, but Ian not sure about herbs.
The immune system overall is very dynamic and some of its branches may change signifcantly day to day. Also, it may also be that you were sick few months ago (asymptomatic cold or something else) and now your system is going back to normal state; this is well known with your white blood cells since during infection more cell chemicals are made which ramp up your immune system.

I would test this again in a month or two, but if you are concerned i would discuss this with your doctor just incase so more testing can be done.

hammer8 - First of all, Its great that your Dr is testing and tracking this (unless its costing an arm and a leg) as a general "look see" of your immune health. Most just do the outdated CD-57, with is a killer cell measuring test, not antibody.

I'm not sure what you know or dont know about Immunoglobulins from the limited info of your post. Some basics:

M, A, E, and G are general body system antibodies for illness. There are more specific organ, illness and body "system" antibodies besides these.

All four of these have DIFFERENT ranges which should be on the test report. Well, some antibodies have a normal ceiling or limit instead of a range. This can be confusing. You didnt include these in your post.

As far as the levels dropping, that is generally a good thing since they are antibodies.

Elevation means your army is multiplying to fight something. That said, its not good if any are dropping below a suggested normal range- again, there should be a range or limit on the original test report.

I have IgG2 under range, but my range is way different than yours (sorry don't remember and don't have the tests here).

This test was done by an ID after I specifically asked him to test my immune system. He was reluctant and didn't want to, but did it anyway since I kept at it. He then sent me a letter in the mail stating that there were no clinical or laboratory findings suggesting immune dysfunction. I then called the hospital and got all the blood test numbers. The a**hole did not find any reason to mention that I have low IgG2 and very low NK cells. What a joke these IDs are!
